About

I am a native of Northeast Arkansas and live in the small town of Pocahontas. I am a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelors in Early Childhood and Arkansas State University with a Masters in Gifted and Talented Education. I am a full-time teacher and part-time artist.

I have always been interested in painting. I took my first private oil painting lesson having zero painting experience and quickly became hooked. Since then I have been obsessed with learning different painting techniques from a variety of talented artists. I currently paint with acrylics because of their versatility and quick dry time. I often paint with a palette knife which enables me to add texture to each painting. I love large, loose brush strokes and working with different mediums.

I have been very fortunate to paint several commissioned pieces, teach private lessons to children, host summer paint camps and paint workshops. I have also taught painting workshops with adults at a local rehabilitation program. My work can also be seen in several private collections across the United States.
